::Even Though You're Gone::

As Matt entered his quiet apartment, he realised how much he missed having someone close to him. He could still smell Charlotte's perfume on his clothes and started to think about her. He didn't know what he was feeling... He had been so deluded by what love is about that he started to doubt his feelings about Charlotte. However, he knew that all he wanted was to spend more time with her.

"Why didn't I stay?" Matt asked himself as he threw his helmet on his couch, "You stupid fool!"

As he lay down on his bed and stared at his easel where his half finished work lay, he realised that his point of focus for his pieces wasn't really there... it wasn't about love as a whole but how he reacted towards feeling in love.

Matt sat up and pulled his easel closer and picked up his brush. He closed his eyes and tried to bring up the emotions of being with Charlotte and her smile, her gaze and her sweetness. Matt felt his brush move easy through the canvas. Inspiration was around... These were going to be his best works yet.

After the last customer left the shop, Mrs Webber was doing the accounts while Charlotte was cleaning up as well as tending to her flowers.

"What a day! There were so many people! Can you believe the response we got?" Mrs Webber said, "This is great... I'm really looking forward to what tomorrow's gonna bring in."

"That's nice to hear," Charlotte replied, her mind still thinking about Matt and his weird reactions towards her.

"There's something on your mind... Is there?" Mrs Webber asked, "You seem distracted and your sudden craze for your antidepressants and your sudden cure is just shocking. I didn't want to ask you before the opening but now I have to question what is really going on with you?!"

Charlotte sighed and rolled her eyes. She could not believe her mother was at it again, trying to make sure that her precious daughter was telling her everything. Charlotte just placed the watering can down and told her mother it was nothing and everyone should get over it.

Mrs Webber's face went sullen as she continued on with the accounts. The silence just killed Charlotte's insides. Her mother was just being concerned and there she was being the bitch.

"Mom... How do you know if you like someone?" Charlotte finally blurted out.

Mrs Webber looked up and smiled, "It's Luke isn't it?"

Charlotte frowned and shook her head frantically, "Oh God NO! Why would you think it's Luke? We're just best friends! It's definitely not Luke!"

Mrs Webber placed her hand on her forehead, "You do know Luke likes you a whole lot right? then who is it then? Someone I know?"

Charlotte cupped her face with her hands, "I can't believe I'm telling this to you! I can't believe I'm doing this all wrong!"

Mrs Webber sat her daughter down and let her tell the whole story. Charlotte noticed her mother's expression just glazed and finally end up in a brawl of laughter.

"You fell for Matthew? Oh my goodness! I can't believe this," Mrs Webber laughed but upon seeing her daughter's sullen face she continued, "But he looks like a good boy. Why not you bring him over and we can have a nice dinner..."

Charlotte stopped her mother, "...No. You know I can't get together with someone so soon... Not after what happened to Dylan. It would be so unfaithful!"

"Charlotte, that was months ago and I'm sure Dylan wants you to be happy. If you are happy being with Matthew and spending time with him, I'm sure Dylan would want you to continue being with Matthew. I know Dylan, he's a very loving man and he's watching over you by bringing you a special man in such a special way," Mrs Webber said.

Charlotte looked up at the bare ceiling but somehow, she could sense that Dylan was really watching over her and making sure she's happy.

"I love you Dylan... No matter what," Charlotte whispered, "even though you're gone."
