::Forgiveness?::

"Did you give him a chance to explain?" Mrs Webber asked. Charlotte just nodded as she continued with her work, "And?"

"And nothing mom. Why are you so concerned about me listening to him, me forgiving him and all?" Charlotte spat. She didn't really comprehend why her mother was not on her side.

Mrs Weber sighed, "I'm sure that Matt didn't mean to lie to you. He has his reasons and I think they are valid. He just wants to be known for him and not for his family."

Charlotte looked at her mother, "You spoke to him? Why?"

"I had to find out the truth, Charlotte. Besides, you left him out there... and I just had a small chat with him," Mrs Webber said.

Charlotte leant over the counter and looked at her mother before she sang, "You like him...."

Mrs Webber looked at her daughter, "Charlotte, he is such a fine young man. He's humble, sweet, caring and he really loves you. You have to stop carrying the baggages of the past and look towards a future... he could be a good future for you."

Charlotte snorted, "You are just saying that cos he's rich and royalty. So fake." Mrs Webber shook her head before returning back to work. Charlotte thought of what her mother said. Maybe she was right... Matt was the best thing that happened to her since Dylan and somehow it felt as though Dylan made her find him.

Her thoughts were disturbed by a man who waltz into the shop with a smile, "Guess who's back!" Charlotte and Mrs Webber looked up and gasped.

"Luke! Welcome back!" Charlotte said as she went over to hug him, "Gosh it seemed so long." Luke was surprised at the fact that Charlotte gave him such a warm welcome at the same time he felt that finally he might have that chance with her.

"Aww... she's so happy to see you," Mrs Webber said as she went over to give Luke a hug too.

"I missed both you lovely ladies so much. That's why I decided to come back here right after my work was done," Luke replied, "Am I welcome back?"

Charlotte and her mother just laughed, "Of course silly. You're still paying some of the bills here you know," Charlotte remarked, "You can start today!" Luke looked a little uncomfortable and Mrs Webber asked what was wrong.

Luke looked sheepish, "It's just that I came back so quickly that I forgot to get a place to crash because I didn't give the tenant time... so..."

"... you can stay with us," Charlotte just said the magic words. Mrs Webber was a little shocked that her daughter suddenly warmed up towards Luke. She was worried that Charlotte was doing it just because she wanted to take away some of the hurt that Matt caused. It was wrong...

"Charlotte... don't you think we don't have much room in the house anymore," Mrs Webber said but Charlotte just brushed her mother away telling her that they always had the couch. Mrs Webber hoped her daughter knew what she was doing.

"Thanks Charlotte. I promise I'll move back to my place real soon. I don't want to impose on you and your mother," Luke said. Charlotte smiled and offered to help Luke to move his stuff back to her place. Mrs Webber watched as her daughter as she happily helped Luke.

"Oh my dear Charlotte..." Mrs Webber sighed.

Matt walked and walked... he didn't feel like working today. His heart was aching and he didn't know why. He used to be alright with losing women... besides, he could get any woman he wants but why was Charlotte someone so special? They only had sex once... but it was special...

"Why did I get myself into such things?" Matt thought to himself. He then decided to just get some beer and just try to relax. He head into one of the bars and just ordered a few bottles.

"Lousy night?" the bartender asked, "No one orders beer so early in the morning unless they had a lousy night or they are in denial in the day." Matt rolled his eyes at the bartender's lack of humor cells in his body.

When Matt did give him an answer, the bartender just shrugged, "I guessed as much. You didn't get laid last night." Matt scowled and just moved himself away from the bar and slid into a counter seat. He wondered if what the bartender said was true... first impressions did count in a way. Was Matt the Cassanova and player that he forgot how truly love a single woman.

He thought about how he survived the first year of his life outside of the family. He had to use his charms and flirt with powerful women to sell them some of their pieces and earn a living. That was how he met Eva, who was really a woman that was not only beautiful but was frank about what she wanted. Matt always went to her on a regular basis and she always made sure Matt was taken care of physically as well as in his artistic career.

But this Cassanova life was over. He needed to prove himself to the world that he didn't need to sell himself short to get to where he wants to. Matt took a last swig of his beer and walked home... where it was safe.
