::The Night Before...::

Both Charlotte and Matt couldn't go to sleep that night. Both of them were thinking about the most important day of their lives that would happen in a few hours' time. Matt tossed and turned as he gazed at the box that held the most important piece of jewellery that he would ever buy. It was sitting quietly across the room on the table as he just lay there... just keeping the thought of Charlotte in his head.

"What would I say to her when she walks to me? How do I tell her how much I love her?" thoughts just raced through his mind.

Matt stepped out of his bed and looked around in his apartment. Charlotte had done such a great job with the furnishings and everything screamed Charlotte's name. He had been feeling this since the day he stepped back into this house since the wedding.

Then there was that wall... where Charlotte's face was to be painted in. Matt was almost done with it but he needed to add fnishing touches. He somehow wished that the painting would just burst into life and Charlotte would just appear right there in front of him.

"I love you Charlotte. No matter what," Matt said quietly as he just stared at the wall...

Charlotte on the other hand somehow felt her heart melt as she thought of Matt. She realised that she actually did love him back but she didn't know if that love was enough to erase the hurt that Dylan had placed in her heart.

All the thinking as made her thirsty. She quietly made her way from her room to the kitchen. She poured a glass of water and sat at the counter. She watched Luke as he slept soundly on the couch. His arms were folded across his shoulders because of the cold wind that was blowing in from the balcony. He was dressed in a tank top and a gym pants. One of his leg was perched at an angle and he was snorning soundly.

Charlotte smiled to herself, "At least someone in the house is sleeping soundly." She decided to pull a blanket over Luke, so he wouldn't get all chilly. She grabbed a blanket from her room and quietly made her way towards the couch. She inched her way in front of Luke as she draped the blanket gently on his body. That startled Luke from his sleep as Charlotte gasped and stepped back from him but Luke managed to grab hold of her arm before she fell.

"Charlotte why are you still up at this hour?" Luke asked as he sat up on the couch. He pulled her to settle beside him as he placed an arm over Charlotte.

Charlotte sighed, "I couldn't sleep. I was trying to cover you with a blanket. It's a chilly night out."

Luke smiled. He somehow knew this day would come that Charlotte would really warm up to him, "Thanks Char. You're always this thoughtful towards me."

"Luke... if you were me, would you forgive Matt for lying to me?" Charlotte asked. Luke was stumped. He didn't know how to reply. On one hand he knew it was just a small misunderstanding but he knew that if he told Charlotte that, he would lose Charlotte forever to Matt.

"You should stick with what you believe in. You shouldn't change yourself for anyone," Luke finally replied after a long pause.

He watched as Charlotte's face fell. She handed him the blanket and told him she was tired and wanted to get to bed. Luke released her from his grasp as he watched her go back into her room. Charlotte was now utterly confused at what she would do tomorrow. She just decided to leave it to whatever happens tomorrow to decide.
