::Missing You::

Charlotte wiped the tears from her eyes so her mother wouldn't notice. As she stepped into the shop, she had to get back to work. She had customers to attend to, Annanessa's floral arrangements to get done and flowers to nurse and care for. She didn't have time to think about how lonely she would be when Matt's away.

As she tried to put on a smile for all her customers, she didn't feel happy at all. Occassional glances from her mother were obvious signs she was concerend about Charlotte and the way she tried to immerse herself in work so she doesn't have to think about Matt.

Throughout the whole day, Charlotte and her mother didn't exchange much except about work. As the customers got lesser in early in the evening, Charlotte decided to head back into working on Annanessa's floral decorations while Mrs Webber continued to tend to the shop and clear up the mess.

As Charlotte continued with the beautiful tulip piece that she had planned to use for the reception, she kept thinking about Matt and how he smiled at her and how he always made her feel good about herself. It was just weird that he was gone and it's only the first day! Charlotte could not help but start to tear.

"Charlotte? Are you okay?" Mrs Webber asked as Charlotte tried to wipe the tears from her eyes.

"Yeah I'm fine," Charlote said but her voice was breaking up from the crying. Mrs Webber sat beside her daughter who was flumbling through the arrangement and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"It's just that I miss him," Charlotte finally admitted and started to tear again.

"It's okay to cry when you miss someone but he will be back. Besides, he loves you," Mrs Webber answered.

"Dylan loved me but he..."

Mrs Webber turned her daughter to face her, "Charlotte, don't keep looking back at Dylan. You have Matt now and he makes you happy. He WILL be back for you. He will..." Charlotte saw the assurity in her mother's face and nodded.

"Alright. Let's not make you cry anymore. I have good news from Annanessa," Mrs Webber said, "She called a few minutes ago to confirm a delivery truck and a limo to pick us up later this week to bring all the decorations over. She wanted us to travel in comfort and not to worry about bringing everything over."

Charlotte forced a smile, "Wow... I've never travelled in a limo before." Mrs Webber was relieved her daughter was smiling again.

Matt stopped the taxi in the middle of town where he wanted to see how the placed changed over the past few years that he's been gone. The streets were bustling with activity. People going around their usual business while others were preparing for the parade that was to happen in a couple of weeks time. Talks about how beautiful Annaessa was and how great the couple looked together.

Matt walked pass a phone booth and decided to call in to his brother. After a couple of rings, he heard the sound of a familiar voice saying Hello.

"Lex it's me. I'm in town already," Matt said.

Matt could almost hear his brother getting all excited, "You are? That's great? Where are you? Let me go pick you up and..."

"... it's ok. I'll rent a car and drive to the house," Matt said. He didn't want to be seen jumping into his brother's car in the middle of town. He didn't want to alarm people by letting them know the renegade son is home.

"Are you sure? I can always get the chauffuers to pick you up from wherever you are..." Lex asked, playing the role of the concerned brother as usual.

"I'm fine Lex. Really. See you in a while," Matt said before he hung up. He took one last look at the town again. It looked different but it spelt home to him.

"Welcome home Matthew Polster. Welcome home," he said to himself before walking off towards the car rental company.
