::A Perfect First Date...::

As Charlotte walked into the shop,she noticed Matt talking heartily with her mother. Ever since Dylan left, she never noticed any person who could entertain her mother as much. They were laughing as though the jokes were terribly funny and they were having tea!

"Am I interrupting anything?" Charlotte teased. Both Mrs Webber and Matt looked towards Charlotte and smiled.

"Charlotte, you look lovely," Matt said as she stood up and gave her the bouquet, "I would be lying if I said I bought them but your mother didn't want me to pay for it." Charlotte shot her mother a glare.

Mrs Webber raised her hands up in protest, "Hey I paid for this shop and technically everything here is mine. I can give things away as I wish." Charlotte soften her facial expression and hugged her mother.

"You two young ones better get going. Enjoy yourselves," Mrs Webber said as she gently pushed the two of them out the shop before closing the doors behind them. Matt and Charlotte looked at each other and started to laugh.

"Your mother is so great. No wonder you are so perfect too," Matt said as he brushed a stray hair off Charlotte's face. Charlotte just gave a soft smile as she found herself blushing.

"So where do you want to go for dinner?" Charlotte asked, trying to make things less awkward and shift his attention away from her rosy face. Matt offered to let Charlotte choose her favourite place but his sheepish expression made Charlotte realise that he didn't have much money to spend.

"Come on, I know a perfect place where we can have our dinner," Charlotte said as she pulled his hand and walked across the street. Matt was puzzled at where they were heading as Charlotte walked down a few more blocks to a diner where they ordered take outs before heading off to the park where they first met.

As they selected a spot by the lake and lay out their food on Matt's jacket, they had their evening picnic. Though it wasn't the ideal romantic dinner and there were no expensive wine or waiters to attend to your every need, it was just wonderful.

"So do you do this with all your girlfriends?" Charlotte asked as she tucked into her burger. Matt beamed as he gorged down some fries. "I don't have many girlfriends... just good lady friends," he said in between bites.

They talked and laughed the whole night with a bit of food fight as well as throwing some crackers into the lake to see whose cracker could go the furthest. Charlotte hadn't had this much fun ever...being with Matt just made her as carefree and childlike as he was.

After all that activity, the two just lay down on Matt's jacket and admired the stars. They played a game of seeing whose hand could cover more stars and they started to fight playfully with each other. Matt started to tickle Charlotte as she tried to dodge his grasp by running away from him.

Finally, Matt caught up with Charlotte and they stopped laughing for a moment. Their eyes locked gazes as Matt pulled Charlotte closer to him.

"Charlotte, you make me the happiest and the luckiest man on earth when you're with me. You are not only my inspiration but you mark a new beginning in my life. I know I can never match up to your ex fiance but I promise to devote my life to making you happy and..."

Before Matt could finish his proclaimation of love, Charlotte started to tear with happiness and she leant over to kiss him. Matt was a little shocked as first but he soon relaxed and tightened his grip on her. He didn't want to let her go now... ever.

It was just a perfect night... a perfect date... a perfect kiss and a perfect beginning for Matt and Charlotte.
