::One For Another::

The days went by as Charlotte and Matt's relationship drew much closer and they have been shopping around for new furniture for Matt's apartment and helping him refurnish his place. It took them the whole week but it was really fun because they got to spend time with each other while indluging in painting, rearranging and cooking each other meals. Charlotte could never ask for a happier time... other than spending it with Dylan.

"What are you doing to the wall?" Charlotte asked as she went over to Matt while he was busy applying paint to one of his walls.

"I was thinking of putting one of my best works into my home... a picture of you. I could have a life size picture of you here!!" Matt said as he pulled Charlotte in for a hug.

"Won't you be scared cos I'll be looking at you from this wall all the time," Charlotte giggled and snuggled her head into the side of Matt's shoulder.

"I wanna be with you all the time babe," Matt whispered as he kissed the back of her ear and held her hand. Charlotte savoured the moment and then kissed him back.

"You're the happiest thing that happened to me ever since... well nevermind," Charlotte stopped and stood up to continue her work around Matt's home. Matt sighed, he knew that her ex fiance was still on her mind and somehow he felt challenged to meet up to that expectation of being him.

The next day, Charlotte was back in the store getting the final floral decorations ready and making sure that the stocks would get into the shop in time for the wedding. It was about two weeks to the wedding and Charlotte was a little excited yet worried about how everything will turn up.

"Don't worry, the stocks will be in by tomorrow and you can start working on the final piece by then," Luke assured Charlotte as he hung up the phone with the supplier.

"By the way, I have something to tell you," Luke said. Charlotte sighed, she hope it wasn't going to be about another problem from the suppliers or the delivery service. Luke met Charlotte's gaze and somehow Charlotte knew it wasn't going to be any good news.

"I'm going to settle some business upstate soon. I think I would have to stop working here for a while..." Luke said and he watched as Charlotte's jaw dropped, "I know it's not right for me to just drop everything at this time when you are about to prepare for your biggest client and all but I can't cancel this deal. It's as important to me as this is to you."

Charlotte placed her palms on her face and recollected her thoughts. Luke has been such a great help around here and sometimes she realised she took his help for granted and didn't consider that he has a life out there too. Doing business, making money...

"No no I understand. I'm really thankful for your help all these while and you should go for your business trip. Mom and I can handle stuff from here... really," Charlotte said as she hugged her best friend.

"Thanks Char. I promise I'll try to make it back as soon as I can," Luke replied. Charlotte shook her head and made Luke promise not to rush things. Besides, she was somehow happy that Luke decided to continue on with his life.

"Enjoy yourself and maybe you could even find a nice girl upstate that you might fancy," Charlotte teased. Luke forced a smile and held onto Charlotte's hand.

"Char, you'll always be the biggest part of my life and I'll do anything for you. Take care of yourself alright?" Luke said before he went off to pick up some good from the supplier. Charlotte wondered what Luke meant but then her mother hollered from the back room about a problem with one of the arrangements and Charlotte forgot about the whole matter.
