::Evening Meet Up::

Charlotte was working late into the night trying to think of a way that she could make the flower arrangements for Annanessa. Luke stayed back to clean up while Mrs Webber had to leave the shop for a while.

As Luke swept the floor, he constantly gazed up to Charlotte and finally decided to talk to her. He placed the broom down and settled up ont he counter opposite her.

"Hey Char... could I speak to you for a moment?" he asked. Charlotte didn't look up from the paper but she nodded.

"I was thinking, I hope you can forgive me about ranting at you all the time and I promise I would never do that again. I just wished we'd be friends again. All I want for you is to be happy. If you are happy with... Matt, then I'm happy for you too," Luke said.

Charlotte stopped scribbling on her paper and looked up at Luke. She smiled and thanked him for understanding. "You will always be my best friend," she said and hugged Luke. Luke's heart felt a deep pang but he would just have to accept that... for now.

Just at that point of time, Mrs Webber came back to the shop with a bag full of food. Luke excused himself to clean up as Charlotte went over to her mother. "Is that my dinner? Great. I'm starving!" Charlotte chimed as Mrs Webber placed the bag in Charlotte's hands.

"It's not just for you... don't you have a little something with Matt tonight? It's dinner for two from your mother," Mrs Webber said. Charlotte smacked her forehead with her hand and thanked her mother for reminding her. As she turned to leave, she hesistated and turned back.

"Don't worry. The shop is in good hands and you can continue your work tomorrow," Mrs Webber said before Charlotte could start nagging again. Charlotte smiled and thanked her mother before rushing off.

It was nearly eight and Charlotte had not appeared on his doorstep. Matt was getting a little nervous and wondered if she worked so hard till she forgot that they were meeting up. Matt sighed and continued working on his latest piece of work. However, his hands didn't feel like working and his mind could only think of when Charlotte would appear in front of him.

Matt's stomach rumbled with angst and he knew he had to eat now. Matt decided to forget about waiting for Charlotte and go out to purchase his Chinese takeouts again. Just as he came out of his apartment and closed the gates, a familiar voice called out to him. Matt turned and smiled. She was here.

"I'm so sorry I was working for the client..." Charlotte explained but before she could, Matt just wrapped her in his arms and kissed her.

"It's ok. As long as you are here. I was about to send out a search party for you," Matt lied, he didn't have the heart to tell her he was tired of waiting.

Charlotte blushed and waved the food that her mother prepared for them. "I bet you are hungry. My mother had this prepared for the both of us. I guess she knew we would not be going for anything fancy. I hope you like mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables."

Matt replied cheekily, "What about just Charlotte?" Charlotte rolled her eyes and they made their way into his apartment. As she took out the food and served it up nicely, Matt made space for them on his bed.

"Instead of bed and breakfast, I was thinking of bed and dinner... something new and special for a special girl," Matt remarked as he pulled Charlotte and the food onto his bed.

"Aren't you direct. Take this to bed then!" Charlotte said as she threw a piece of carrot at Matt and roared with laughter. As they started on their very late dinner, Matt filled Charlotte in about the money and the plans he had for it... the new apartment, new furniture... new life...

"Are you sure you wanna get out of this place? It's so cosy. A bachelor like you don't need so much space," Charlotte said.

"I do... because you're sharing this space with me right?" Matt cooed into Charlotte's ear. She rolled her eyes and threw a pillow at him this time round.

"Who's sharing this dingy place with you!" Charlotte made a face and returned to her food but she was elated that Matt thought of sharing his home with her.
