::The Plan....::

Charlotte looked out the window and saw the beautiful morning sky. She couldn't help but feel on top of the moon. She watched as the luscious trees went by and the birds were singing. She could never ask for a better day to tell the man she loved that she would forgive him for everything to gain his love.

"It's such a wonderful day... isn't it?" Charlotte asked Luke who somehow still looked tense and uncomfortable. He didn't say anything but just gave her a stiff nod. Luke had so many thoughts racing through his mind but he didn't know how to address any one of them. He just knew the best way was forward but he had to make a stop first... at the gas station.

"Hey, I've gotta pull up here for a while. Sit here and wait for me ok?" Luke said as he got out of the car. Charlotte agreed as she watched Luke go into the convenience store.

As Luke stepped into the store, he went straight for the drinks section. He bought Charlotte a soda, some water and snacks. As he piled them up on the counter, the cashier was a little shock at his purchase.

"I'm getting it for a big family gathering... you know how it is with parties," Luke lied as the cashier smiled at him before keying in the prices. He then quickly slipped some migrane pills with the stuff he was buying.

"That will be $98 sir," the cashier said sweetly.

Luke handed her a bill and told her to keep the change. He went out into the lot where Charlotte was still quietly sitting there. He signaled to her and told her he was going to the loo. She nodded and shooed him in.

Luke didn't know what he was going to do was going to harm Charlotte but he knew it was the best way to keep her away from everyone else and only for himself. He uncapped the bottle and slipped the pills into it. He gave it a little shake as he watched the fizz die down. He was ready...

"What took you so long? Was it my mom's breakfast?" Charlotte joked as she watched Luke pile the stuff into the car, "What's with the snacks?"

Luke smiled, "I feel bad always eating at your place, so I decided to buy some snacks so I wouldn't feel hungry when you and your mother are at work."

Charlotte rolled her eyes, "You do know you have to go to work with us right?"

Luke sighed, "I do have the liberty to take some days off right?" Charlotte playfully slapped him on the arm as Luke handed her the soda bottle.

"Here, I wouldn't want you to dehydrate. It's going to be a warm day and you need to drink up," Luke said, trying to sound as natural as possible. He was surprised that Charlotte never rejected him as she took the bottle mouth to her lip. Luke watched as she drank it before he started the car rolling.

Charlotte smiled at Luke as she somehow finished the whole bottle, "I never liked sodas but since you are so wonderfully nice today, I've finished it for you."

Luke replied, "Thank Charlotte. You matter to me... and I would never want to lose you..."

"... as a friend right?" Charlotte finished the sentence for him.

That few words just reminded him how right he was doing this.

It was now noon. The sun was beating down on Matt and he could feel the heat both inside and outside of him. He had to find Charlotte to ask her why... why couldn't she forgive him for lying to her. Why all the love that they shared didn't mean anything to her. He looked at the ring box for the final time before slipping it into his pocket. He had to find out what was wrong and how he could get her back. It was time for action.
