::The Wedding Day Part 1::

It was just dawn but almost everyone in Eisenberg were already up and preparing for the wedding that everyone had been looking forward to for the longest time. Flags were put up, pictures of the couple were printed all over the local papers, people were cooking a storm in the kitchens and there was joy all around.

In the manor, the chefs were busy preparing the reception, Yvette was mulling around making her final touches to the wedding. Movers were rushing in and out of the wedding hall at her beck and call. Charlotte and Mrs Webber were spraying water on the flowers to make them look fresh and bright. Charlotte was decked out in her creme dress that had a beautiful diagonal cut from her thigh to her ankle. She had her hair pinned up that made her look like a princess.

Meanwhile, Annanessa was getting her makeup and hair done as her bridesmaids were milling around her with excitement. However, the groom was having a quiet breakfast with his brother and the best man. They weren't speaking to each other since the breakfast started.

"I'm sorry," Matt apologised, breaking the silence. Alex looked up at his brother and Matt looked back at him, "... for making a fuss out of the artwork."

"It's ok Matthew. I understand how you felt. I was wrong too... and I'm sorry for lying to you," Alex said, "so does that mean you will stay in the manor?" Matt looked down at his food and shook his head.

"I'm still going but I'm just going back to my old apartment," Matt answered blankly.

Albert came into to the dining room to tell the guys they needed to get dressed now. Matt pushed his plate away and walked out of the room without saying anything else to his brother. Alex sighed and followed Albert to get ready for his wedding.

By mid morning, all the guests started arriving for the wedding ceremony. Yvette was already on standby, cueing the orchestra to start playing as the guests took their seats. Charlotte was seated three rows from the front with her mother and Charlotte was excited to see ber best friend get married. As the emcee announced the arrival of the groom, Paolo rushed towards Charlotte to tell her there were some problems with the main floral arrangement in the reception hall.

"Do you want me to go with you?" Mrs Webber asked. Charlotte shook her head and told her mother to help her be the witness of her best friend's wedding before she rushed off with Paolo to save the arrangement. Just at that moment, Alex walked in with Matt behind him. Mrs Webber stared at Matt for a while before she recognised him. She gasped but Matt didn't see her. He was too busy thinking about how he was going to leave after the wedding.

As Yvette had notice that Annanessa had arrived, she cued the orchestra to start the wedding march. Alex started to beam as he saw Annanessa walk down the aisle as she held onto her father's arm. As she approached Alex, she was smiling from ear to ear and she had a glow on her face. Matt saw how happy the newlyweds were. They were truly in love. He wondered if he could ever find such happiness.

Mrs Webber watched Matt as she heard the couple behind her talk about him... "Isn't that the second son of Lord Polster? My, we've not seen him such a long time," the lady whispered.

"Yeah, there were rumours saying he ran away from home. Wonders why he decided to come home," the man replied, in a hushed tone.

"It's his brother's wedding, old man. Of course he has to come back. He doesn't want to embarrass his family any longer right? But what I don't understand is why he wanna run away. I mean, if I were him, I would just bask in my father's royal name," the lady replied as she let out a soft laugh. The man started to laugh along with her.

Mrs Webber sighed. She wondered if her daughter knew about Matt's background and if she should be the one telling her about it.

As the vows were read, rings exchanged and first kiss as husband and wife made, everyone in the hall cheered as the couple walked out holding each other as the guests showered confetti on them. Yvette cued the doves to be released as the couple stepped out of the hall. Everyone was just in awe seeing the doves flying high into the sky.

Before they made their way into the car for a customary round of Eisenberg, Alex turned to his brother, "Thank you Matthew, for being here for me. I hope you'll consider staying. If not, I'll still visit you now and then... if you would allow me to." Matt smiled and clapped his brother on the back.

"I will look forward to your visits... Lex," Matt said as he ushered the newlyweds into the car. Matt watched as the car pulled away and the guests were ushered into the hall for some refreshments. The reception was up next and after that, Matt's grand exit to his home... where Charlotte, his passion and his future were.
