::Brotherly Time Out::

"Uncle Albert, I'm really alright. I don't really need much help," Matt said as he started throwing his things around his room. Albert then excused himself and reminded Matt that he could call on him anytime. Matt sighed. It was really difficult to get back to the old times where he would just laze on the bed while Albert got him everything. Matt was a hands on man now... he didn't really need much help anymore.

Then there was a knock on the door. Matt sighed, thinking it was Albert again, he started to scream, "I don't need ANY help! Don't you get it??"

"Hey you don't have to shout you know," Alex replied as he walked into Matt's room, "Everything you need is here I guess."

Matt apologised and forced a smile, "I guess... just that... I miss my girl back home."

Alex was pleasantly surprised, "You have a girl? Why didn't you tell me about her?"

Matt felt he started to beam when he thought of Charlotte. He couldn't wait to let her meet Alex but he couldn't afford to let her know about his past so soon. Matt told Alex about how he met Charlotte at the park and how he helped her with her shop and how they fell in love.

"Why didn't you bring her back to meet us then?" Alex asked. Matt shook his head.

"She doesn't know about... my past. I don't want her to know... yet. Besides, she has a big client and has to work," Matt replied. Alex smiled at his brother and gave him a hug.

"I'm glad you finally learnt how to love but I think you should be honest about yourself towards her. To love is to trust," Alex advised him, "Okay advice aside, let's go for a game of tennis. I'm dying to see how I match up with you now."

Matt frowned, "Don't you have a wedding to get to and do all that silly wedding stuff? You still have time for a game of tennis?"

Alex laughed, "Oh Matt... that's why we hired a wedding planner. Besides, I told Annanessa that you would be home today so she gave me the rest of the time off to spend time with you."

Matt rolled his eyes and laughed, "I'm starting to wonder if you're getting married to Annanessa or getting married to me."

Tennis was the game that the boys grew up with. Matt was the more active one and always had the upper hand when it came to sports. However, the time away from home caused him to lose his touch on the court. Alex took the shot with a forceful backhand and caused Matt to run back to the baseline but he missed the ball altogether.

"You're losing your touch, Matt," Alex said as they walked towards the net.

"I'm just letting you win cos you're the groom-to-be," Matt said before the brothers laughed, "I'm tired. Let's take a break." By that time, Albert came onto the court and served them drinks.

"Lex, how did you know that it was time for you to... you know... settle down?" Matt asked.

Alex smiled, "Well, there comes a time in life where you realise that there is someone in your life that always makes you happy and somehow you just cannot see yourself not spending the rest of your life with her. When she is away you long for her and when she is close you can't wait to hold her." Matt nodded. He thought about Charlotte and tried to see if all of what his brother said could apply to them.

Alex noticed his brother had gone all quiet. He reached over and placed a hand on Matt's shoulder, "You'll just know it when you see her. You don't have to worry about it."

"I'm just glad you're marrying Annanessa and not your other girlfriends. Oh I remember those girls... erm what was their names again" Matt teased and tried to name some of the girls that Alex used to date.

"Oh spare me the agony!" Alex comically placed his hands on his heart as though he was stabbed. The brothers laughed, they hadn't had this much fun in years.

"I bet you thought I forgot all of that. You better had told Annanessa about your dirty past cos I'm going to include that in the best man's speech!" Matt joked as he gluped down his water.

"She knows everything about me. That's why trust and honesty is very important. But all is said and done, I'm just glad you're here to go through this with me. Thanks baby brother," Alex said. Matt was glad too... because he finally saw how much joy he could actually bring to someone's life... especially someone who has been with him through thick and thin.
