::Crashworld::

Charlotte stepped out of the bathroom and watched as her mother and Luke stare at her like it was the awakening of an endangered species. She forced a smile at them as she made her way to have breakfast. She didn't utter a word but she could see that her mother was eager to know if she was going to meet Matt today.

"So...?" her mother asked as she poured coffee for her daughter.

Charlotte looked at the concern in her mother's eyes and replied, "I'm going... to see him."

At that moment, Luke felt his world crashed on him a second time around. To think he thought he was getting somewhere with Charlotte but now he knew that she was using him as her comfort blanket and there was no feelings entwined with whatever they shared a day ago. He didn't know how he should react and feel at the moment. All he knew was that he went numb.

"Great! Let's get you going then!" Mrs Webber said, sounding like an excited teenager all over again.

"Mom, you make it sound as though I'm getting married or something," Charlotte giggled as she watched her mother dance around the kitchen.

"I'm sure that can be arranged somehow," Mrs Webber winked at her daughter.

Luke suddenly felt all the hurt and jealousy rise up within him. He knew that if he didn't take drastic measures now, he would lose Charlotte forever... again. He had to make sure she knew very well how he felt about her and make her realise that he was the one for her... and not some painter.

"Where are you meeting him?" Luke asked.

Charlotte bit a corner off her sandwich and replied, "I'm meeting him at the park."

Luke thought for a moment and said, "Want me to send you there? Besides, you're already running late, I presume."

Charlotte was surprised at Luke's generosity. Sure she knew Luke could have feelings for her but she was really happy that he finally realised that she loved Matt and he was only going to be her best friend.

"Sure. I don't see why not. Just let me get my stuff," Charlotte said as she ran into her room.

"What you're doing for her... is nice," Mrs Webber whispered to Luke as Charlotte disappeared into her room. Luke didn't know what to say but gave Mrs Webber one of his smiles.

Matt looked at his watch... it was nearly ten but he couldn't see Charlotte anywhere. He was suddenly getting really nervous and at the back of his mind he kept thinking of the 'what if' questions he tried to suppress all this while. He started having doubts that he knew that he should not have. Matt wished he had someone to reassure him.

He took at look at the ring box in his hand and then darted his eyes to his watch. It just made him panic more and more. He told himself he'd give her another couple of hours before he decide to find her. If she didn't want to go to him, he will go to her.

Luke and Charlotte walked towards Luke's car without saying much. Luke could see the eagerness in Charlotte's eyes as she turned to him and smile. She never looked more beautiful. Luke realised that this was it... he had to act now or he would never see those beautiful eyes and smile he always loved.

"Luke, stop daydreaming... let's go," Charlotte said as she got into the car. Luke was interrupted from his moment and then got into the driver's seat. He suddenly didn't know what he should do next. A pang of guilt ran through his whole body.

"Luke, are you ok? You seem a little uncomfortable," Charlotte asked as she placed her hand on his arm. Luke could feel the warmth in that touch. Oh, he'd give up anything for her... even his life.

"Yeah I'm fine. Let's go then," Luke said as he started the engine.
