::The Wedding Aftermath::

Charlotte held onto her mother as they exited the manor and flagged a taxi back to the hotel. Charlotte just knew that she had to get home and forget everything. Her mother didn't say anything but just supported her daughter on the sidelines. Charlotte didn't say anything but just continued in her tears. Mrs Webber just placed an arm around her daughter and let Charlotte just cry it all out.

"Why did he have to lie to me? Why?" Charlotte cried.

"Maybe he didn't mean to. Maybe he just wanted to be normal... like us," Mrs Webber said, "Besides, I'm sure he was honest with you all the way. Just that he doesn't like people to know about his stature here."

Charlotte looked at her mother, "But he loves me. Shouldn't you tell someone you love everything about yourself instead of hiding things? How can I ever trust him again?"

Mrs Webber sighed, "I haven't heard his side of the story but you do have a point there. Why don't you just calmly talking things out with him?"

Charlotte turned away from her mother and looked out the taxi window, "We tried... but we just ended up arguing about it. There is no point. I'm just going to forget him and get on with my life."

Before Mrs Webber could advise her daughter further, they arrived at the hotel and Charlotte just sped out of the taxi and up to their room.

Matt returned to his room after the reception and just lay on the bed. He couldn't believe the turn of events and he was so hurt till he went numb. He knew Charlotte was really mad at him but he couldn't understand why she was feeling that way.

"Did I wake you up?" Alex asked as he knocked on Matt's door. Matt sat up on the bed and told Alex he could come in.

"Shouldn't you be spending the night with your new bride," Matt asked, trying to break the sad mood.

Alex smiled, "I told her I was getting something to drink. Besides, I could see you were upset about something the whole evening. What's wrong?"

Matt shook his head, "Never mind. I don't think I should be bothering you with any of my problems. Especially not at your wedding night."

Alex shook his head, "Matthew, you of all people should know that I don't just ditch my brother to the sidelines just cos I'm now a married man. I still care for you and I want to help you in anyway I can."

Matt was appreciative of his brother's concern and told him about Charlotte and what happened that night. As Alex listened, his jaw dropped and Matt knew Alex was as stunned as he was when he saw Charlotte at the reception.

"Charlotte is your girlfriend? I was just talking to her a couple of nights ago when she came into to do the floral decorations. I never knew... if I did I would..." Alex said but Matt interrupted him.

"... it's ok Lex. No one, including me knew she was here. Maybe it was just fate that allowed her to realise about my background that I tried so hard to run away from. Somehow she doesn't understand and she keeps accusing me of leading her on," Matt replied.

"Do you love her?"

"Excuse me? Of course I love her. If not why would I be talking about her?!" Matt said.

Alex shook his head, "Matthew, if you truly love someone, it's not all just talk. Talking can't get you anywhere. When someone is hurting the most, the only way to show that person you truly care is through your actions. You have to show her your love."

Matt sighed, "Yeah right. It sure sounds easy when you say it but actually doing it..." Matt snorted, "Charlotte is a tough girl. She's been through losing her ex-fiance in a car accident. What more this?"

"If you don't take my advice, that's fine but take time to think about what I just said. Besides, your bags are already packed. " Alex said before he started walking towards the door but he stopped, remembering something else.

"Oh Matthew, just to let you know we've sold all your paintings that you did for our wedding. You will also be expecting people to be calling the great artist they only know as Matt soon. They love your work," Alex said.

Matt forced at smile at his brother, "Thanks Alex for everything."

"Don't mention it. Just get my sister-in-law back," Alex smiled, "She's a beautiful, caring, smart and wonderful girl for you. Don't let her run away."
